Our Curriculum

At our school, our curriculum has been carefully designed around the unique needs and strengths of our community. We serve a diverse and vibrant school population, including a high proportion of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), many children who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL), and families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.

Our ambition is for every child to become a confident communicator, a resilient learner and a responsible citizen. These aspirations drive the decisions we make about what children learn, when they learn it and how it is taught. We have identified clear end points for learning that equip pupils with the knowledge, skills and vocabulary they need to succeed both in school and beyond. 

While fully meeting the requirements of the National Curriculum, we have deliberately designed a curriculum that prioritises depth, clarity and accessibility rather than unnecessary content. Through carefully chosen resources and schemes, including Kapow, pupils experience a coherent progression of learning, explicit vocabulary instruction, strong teacher modelling and rich opportunities to see themselves and others represented within the curriculum. 

Our curriculum is inclusive, ambitious and culturally rich. It celebrates diversity, removes barriers to learning and nurtures curiosity, independence and a love of learning. We aim to ensure that every child leaves our school well prepared for the next stage of their education and equipped to thrive as lifelong learners in an ever-changing world.
